Jake Dickinson

Owner & Head Coach

Coach Jake has been coaching functional fitness since 2011. A passion for baseball led him to fitness and that has evolved into a lifelong love of sport and fitness. Having had his own life changed through fitness, Jake enjoys seeing other’s lives become better through fitness. Outside of the gym, Jake enjoys doing jiu jitsu. Inside of the gym his favorite workouts involve odd object carries, sled pushes or rope climbs.

 

Ashley Dickinson

Coach Ash has been dedicated to her own fitness and nutrition journey since 2012. She understands what it's like to navigate a hectic daily schedule, while also maintaining a balanced lifestyle, and would love to help you with finding your unique balance “recipe” as well! Outside of coaching, Ash is a high school English teacher, Harry Potter mega-fan, and amateur head chef of the Dickinson household. Her favorite thing to practice inside of the gym is anything gymnastics and her favorite barbell movement is the squat clean.

 

Sue Carter

Coach
CrossFit Level 1, Gym Yoga Instructor Certified

Coach Sue has been working out, functional fitness style, for over 10 years. Her passion for exercise extends toward encouraging and helping others reach their fitness goals. The JD Fit community is one of her most favorite aspects of the gym and her the gymnastic movements are her favorite to work on! Outside of the gym, she loves being with her family and using her fitness from inside the gym for many other activities. Sue loves to run, bike, and chase around her four grandchildren. Outside of the realm of fitness, she enjoys reading and watching action movies.

 

Kyle Harris

CrossFit Level 1

A 2013 and 2014 Ironman Wisconsin finisher, Coach Kyle has been involved in fitness for his entire life and has been doing functional fitness since 2015. Kyle’s favorite movement in the gym is the squat snatch. He also enjoys using his fitness outside of the gym by wake boarding, wake surfing, and mountain biking. In addition to his JD Fit coaching, Kyle is going on 6 years as a coach for the Rockford Hockey Club, which has included a state championship win in the 19-20 season.

 

Jesse Geiken

CrossFit Level 1

Coach Jesse’s passion for functional fitness, and CrossFit journey, began in in 2012. He has been an active first responder since 2007 and believes fitness and wellness are essential to success both at work and at home. Jesse’s barbell lift is the deadlift and muscle ups are his favorite gymnastics movement to practice. When he is not in the gym, Jesse enjoys camping, hiking, and exploring with his family.

Gunnar Morris

CrossFit Level 1

Coach Gunnar has a background in wrestling, making the Illinois Wrestling National Team in 2014. Any time you catch him in the gym, you're sure to get a dose of his contagious good nature and genuine passion for working out. Outside of the gym, Gunnar enjoys spending time with his family and outdoors. His favorite movements inside the gym are back squat and power clean.

 

Emma Hernandez


Coach, Massage Therapist

CrossFit Level 1, Licensed Massage Therapist

Emma is our in-house massage therapist and is excited to help our community stay well and recovered. Emma was a cheerleader at Western Illinois University, has been a massage therapist for nearly 7 years, yoga teacher, and was a personal trainer for 10 years. Her favorite activities outside of the gym are family time, kicking it with her kitty cat, Nina, skateboarding, and anything in nature. You’ll see Emma in class ENJOYING the burpees, as they're her favorite movement!
